Slick Rick’s New album, Victory, Krip-Hop Break Down (Part One)

Slick Rick’s New album, Victory, Krip-Hop Break Down (Part One) by The Black Kripple

Old KripHop Logo of a man breakdancing on a record.Hey Hip-Hop/Krip-Hop Heads:

a. Interesting that Slick Rick who has a disability himself (one eye) has a track entitled, Another Great Adventure and the subject of the song\story is a daughter with mental disability who is peeing on the floor when people are over. Let’s look at the whole album, especially the twenty-nine film, Victory.  The king of rap storytelling is back!!

Krip-Hop Nation always breaks down disability components/themes!

Check out the song.

b. Another disability verse on Slick Rick’s new album in a spoken Word track, I Did That!

“I flipped being blind into a luxury brand.”

The king of rap storytelling.  Damn that is so Krip-Hop!

Krip-Hop Nation always breaks down disability components/themes!

Check out the Spoken Word song.

c.  Victory (The Film 29:56 minutes) OMG starts with everyone having one eye this goes on throughout the whole film… Too much to break down so go check it out his film.

The only song I don’t rock with is his song entitled Landlord describing how hard it is being a landlord in New York.  Miss me with that!  I’ll stick with the Coup 1993 album Kill My Landlord.

Slick Rick should be studied from a Hip-Hop and Disability perspective in both studies aka Disability Studies and Hip-Hop Studies!

Let’s do this!
